In 2020, university students were sent home for distance studies due to COVID-19. In that new reality, the first project we were tasked with was to reimagine what society could look like if the conditions of the pandemic persisted. Spending entire days at home within the same walls made me think of bikepacking – being constantly active outdoors – as the ideal lifestyle. Romanticizing camping life, comfort no longer felt like an important priority. This flexible home instead emphasizes mobility and flexibility.
